Hello and Welcome —

For over 10 years, I have worked alongside children and young people across schools, therapeutic services, and court support settings.

My experience supporting children who have experienced complex trauma — including childhood sexual abuse — and working with young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours has profoundly shaped my commitment to child protection and advocacy. Nurtured Minds Toowoomba was founded to provide specialised, child-focused counselling where children and adolescents feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported in their healing and development.

While grounded in a child-centred approach, I believe lasting change happens when the broader family system is engaged. My work is informed by family therapy principles, allowing me to support not only the child, but the relationships that shape their wellbeing.

I draw primarily from Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and play therapy to deliver developmentally appropriate, evidence-based care tailored to each child’s needs. NMT also incorporates specialist harmful sexual behaviour assessment and intervention frameworks, including the True Traffic Lights Framework and AIM3 Assessment Model, to support safe, structured, and clinically informed intervention where required.

In early 2026, I was honoured to be named a finalist in the Queensland Heart of Women Awards (Children and Youth Category), recognising my commitment to supporting children and families. And as a mother of two, I understand the joys and challenges of raising children and teenagers.

I look forward to supporting your family with care, integrity, and a child-first focus.

 0ur Philosophy & Values

Nurtured Minds Toowoomba was founded from a deep commitment to child protection and a passion for ensuring children and young people have access to safe, specialised, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic support. After working within the sector and identifying significant gaps in dedicated child-focused services and whole-family support, this practice was created to provide a service where children are not only heard, but prioritised. Our approach is grounded in a “child first” philosophy — recognising that meaningful change occurs when we support the child within the context of their family and community.

We are guided by the values of integrity, empowerment, advocacy, and being community-minded. It is of utmost importance that we are ensuring that every interaction reflects professionalism, ethical responsibility, and a genuine commitment to strengthening the safety, resilience, and wellbeing of children and families.

Health & Safety Commitment

At Nurtured Minds Toowoomba, the safety and wellbeing of children, families, and staff is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment where children feel secure, respected, and supported.

Our practice operates in alignment with child protection legislation, ethical standards, and professional guidelines, with clear safeguarding procedures in place to prevent harm and respond appropriately to concerns. We promote a culture of safety, transparency, and shared responsibility in all aspects of our work.
